Create an Old Fashioned Christmas
I am in love with Heubachs - the rolled cotton (commonly called
cotton batting)
Christmas children ornaments made in Germany in the late 1800's and
through the 1920's.
These small child figurines with bisque faces and dyed cotton bodies
were
made as a cottage industry in the Heubach region, hence the name given
to them; Heubach.
Fetching $500 a piece, more or less, only the most fortunate have the
pleasure
of collecting the originals.
But thanks to Margaret Haire, you can own an affordable reproduction.
Margaret has done a wonderful job of capturing the innocence of
Christmas Past
in these pieces.
