American Christmas Classics Music Gift Set
BACKGROUND The seed of inspiration for the development of Christmas Classics’ THE MILLENNIA COLLECTION: Glorious Christmas Music, Songs, and Carols was planted when Ron Clancy heard a choir of nuns sing beautiful Christmas carols during his first Midnight Mass at St. John’s Orphanage in Philadelphia. Ron’s love for Christmas music grew over the years as he built a sizeable music library. By the late 1980s he was compiling classic Christmas music collections and giving them to family and friends as holiday gifts. Intrigued by his unusual offerings, each accompanied by a small directory with bits of information about each carol or music title, e.g., "Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly" read . . . "Anonymous 16th century Welsh carol," Ron’s friends encouraged him to pursue his dream to produce the ultimate Christmas music collection. That goal was to fuse great art and music in attractive and lavishly illustrated boxed sets. This he did, but only after years of research and when no publisher willing to risk taking on his “overly ambitious project.” In the year 2000 Ron finally took the plunge and published “Best-Loved Christmas Carols,” the first volume of the series. A year later “American Christmas Classics” was successfully launched. The story of Ron’s efforts to create imaginative Christmas music collections has been covered in newspapers across the country. Ron has also appeared on numerous radio shows and television programs, including QVC, EWTN Cable Network’s Bookmark, the PBS Religious and Ethics Newsweekly, New York’s The God Squad, and Comcast’s Real Life with Mary Amoroso.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
- Ron Clancy is the author and visionary behind exquisite Christmas music collections originally titled THE MILLENNIA COLLECTION: Glorious Christmas Music, Songs and Carols.
- Exceeding his own expectations, the first four volumes Best-Loved Christmas Carols (Vol.#1), American Christmas Classics (Vol. #2), Children’s Christmas Classics (Vol. #3), and Sacred Christmas Music (Vol.#4) have generated enthusiasm and high acclaim from reviewers, booksellers, and customers alike. Ron’s creations have led to his guest appearances on the PBS program Religion and Ethics Newsweekly, EWTN, The God Squad, Comcast with Mary Amoroso, and QVC.
- Ron’s Christmas music collections come in attractive gift boxes that feature seasonal music CDs and lavishly illustrated coffee table books that include color plates of magnificent period art. Two collections also include soft-back Songbooks with carol music scores.
- Born in 1944 and a graduate of the George Washington University (BA Journalism), Ron is married to a retired elementary school teacher and resides in southern New Jersey. For two decades he opted for a career in executive search, recruiting for both Fortune 500 corporations and small hi-tech companies. Collecting Christmas music was a hobby.
- When Ron heard heavenly Christmas carols sung by a choir of nuns at his first Midnight Mass at a Catholic orphanage in Philadelphia, he was hooked. He eventually sang in the orphanage boys’ choir. In later years he collected Christmas music of all genres and by 1982 he had assembled a sizable library.
- In 1989 his continued interest in Christmas music led him on his journey to create the landmark THE MILLENNIA COLLECTION. His objective then, and always, was to produce quintessential Christmas music compilations.
- Curious by nature, Ron wanted an innovative format to share his discovery about how Christmas music developed over two thousand years. With the release of Sacred Christmas Music (Vol. #4) by Sterling Publishing in 2008, Ron believes a better understanding of that little known history has come full circle.
