Antique Lures:
"Theses two pieces Antique Lures I and Antique Lures II are a culmination of local fisherman, Billy Shumaker’s lure collection. Many of the lures were old time favorites of his grandfather. I laid them out into a pattern taking into consideration shapes and colors. My intention was to classify each lure. I was confident that Billy was very familiar with each of these and that this would not be an issue. I was wrong! It took a couple of years to be certain about a couple of these ( Devon Minnow and Glowbody Minnow) and after researching and letter confirmation from an expert in New Jersey I was ready to finish and put them into print. My aim was to depict the wear and tear of this beloved collection; the years of use being handled and catching that big fish. My favorite is the dingbat. But I have to add that I am partial to the crackled and chipped paint in the Pencil Popper, Flatfish and the Creek Chub Wiggler. Not to be denied, the patterns in Heddon’s Crazy Crawler , Midget Plunker, Injured Minnow and The Weezel are favorites as well. So you might say that I thoroughly enjoyed creating these two rare art pieces. I hope they find their way into to your cozy hunting/fishing cabin, your warm lived–in den, quaint summer cottage or perhaps your eclectic library. Regardless of where you might place these two pieces (or one) , they shall add unique charm and character to the walls they grace."
With kind regards,
Bonnie Wolfe

About the Artist:
Bonnie Wolfe was born, raised and still resides in the Upper Sandusky area. Her initial art career began as a graphic artist for a local sporting company, allowing her to be creative with logo design as well as working with emulsions and screen developing in the lab well before everything was digitally composed. Raising a family inspired her to create her own business, allowing her the freedom to work at home. Through exclusive art shows throughout Ohio and Michigan she sold her artwork all across the country and abroad. Having no formal training, her art is more (strike 'more') instinctual and more about discovery; learning new techniques every day. Her current works are in watercolor, acrylic, ink and oils. She has been teaching adults and children for the past 22 years in her home studio. She teaches fundamentals and adds non-traditional methods she has developed over the years such as sponging, washing, glazing and splattering.

(Her) Students find her never-ending enthusiasm to be contagious. Bonnie continues to challenge herself by seeking special retreats with well-known artists such as Dr. Kyle Parks and Vance Shepherd. Through their influence, she has been introduced to “plein air” which has gently (or not so gently) pushed her to stretch even further.

Bonnie’s work has been on display at various galleries and trade shows throughout the country.

"I feel like I have only begun to touch the surface of what is possible. I feel truly Blessed."
