Early German Santa Ornament

Wonderful little glass Santa with a red coat. Mercury coated on the inside. His trim on coat was frosted with a matte paint. Some of that remains. Oh, the stories this guy could tell if he could talk!

Years have removed much of his coloration. But there is enough left to keep his character intact.

Pike opening is jagged. There is no cap, just a loop pin. It appears that he may have been glued to something in the past - there is evidence of material still stuck to the bottom.
